Default 97 Making ticking sound

I have a missing hose on my passenger side firewall right about where the headers meat my x pipe. Would anyone be able to tell me where this should lead too? I'm assuming its some sort of EGR but I cannot find its other end. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Take a pic please. Also give us as much info about your Stang as possible.

According to Haynes, that's the EGR tube. Unfortunatly, it doesn't show where it goes to. My sugestion is to go to the junkyard, and find a Stang of a similar year, and trace it down. Unless someone else here can do it for you. I'm going to check mine for you and see where it goes. But I have an 03, and it may be diferent.

Pics didn't come out, but it does go to the EGR valve. It's a steel tube, with a rubber line that splits off halfway between the manifold, and the EGR valve base. You should be able to get one at a local junkyard.

Well I have two of those on the actual exhaust manifold but they hook up to the DPFE sensor. I'm starting to think it might be my heater drain hose but I don't know where it would hook up, I'll check the junkyard later and keep you guys posted.

You mean the little rubber hose comming out of the firewall??? That's the AC drain hose. Nothing to do with any ticking from the motor

Well, I didn't say it was comming from the motor, but it does tick. I plugged it up and rev'd the motor and it stopped. Does anyone know where it connects on the other end?
