A guy at work just purchase a 2005 Goat. He wants to race Monday when we get back to work. What do you think my chances are? His is completely stock but man does it sound mean.

A 2005 GTO vs your 04 cobra?

Dont screw up the launch or miss a shift and its in the bag. Those things have some traction issues, some bad wheelhop, and more weight. They are very low 13's with a good experienced driver in it and like mid 13's and up with someone not used to those issues. I saw one at the track last year that couldnt break a 14.2... guy just could NOT launch. 3+ second 60' times are a killer :D

I HAVE GOT DOWN ON A COUPLE GOATS THEY HAVE REALLY BAD WHEEL HOP. OFF THE LIGHT I WAS GRABIN A FULL CAR LENGTH BUT IM NOT SUPERCHARGED SO HE PULLED ME IN THRID BUT IN THE 04 COBRA I GOT MY PAY CHECK ON THE COBRA. IS IT A 6.0 OR 5.7 GOAT

the 05's are 6.0 and the 04's are 5.7

You will win. Is he auto or manual? The GTO usually dyno around 340 with a manual and 330 with the auto. 03/04 Cobras dyno at least 360 usually a little more. You have more wheel hp and less weight plus the are hard to launch. My buddy has a 05 GTO M6 and he put down 340 whp. He ran 13.4@106. He and I have raced from a stop and when he was stock I won by 1.5 cars from 0-95 and I only run 13.3.

They actually put down better numbers than that 757. They typically put down around 350 for the auto and around 360 for the M6.

O4 cobra? You should kill him, just get a good launch.

I actually have a convertible. Do you think that will make a difference?
