There's a difference between a "ricer" and a "racer".

Very very very few jap cars are "race" capable.

Wow...Im surprised to hear about a Supra that is s/c'ed...most of them are either twin turbo or upgraded to a fat ass single turbo...

Supras are one of those cars that I dont see too often, living in a place that is mostly of the Big 3 variety...but I always get a kick outta seeing them when i do!  Go 2JZgte!

Oh, and just out of curiosity...how is a clean obviously fast supra a "damn ricer"?

souron, just because we say rice doesn't mean we're talking "modded", but just a general term of reference to imports (me at least, which is why i called it muscle rice)

ok.....i guess everybody has a different deffinition of rice but most people use rice as a turm for cars that have say big wings, stuped kits, neon lights, stuped sounding exaust, type-R badges when its not a type-R......stuff like that.....but meh.....thats just what i call rice...

here we're not all into the specifics...if it's imported and slow it's rice.  if it's fast imported it's not.

*edit* i know it looks like im posting after you on purpose, but i just checked my email the same minute unknowingly.

What we commonly refer to as rice, or ricer is the freshly lisenced, cocky high school kid who thinks his 17,000 dollar civic is a sports car and will take everything on the road.  The ricer is the same kid who always tells about his mods BEFORE he gets them and says "man...  my sh*t will dog your mustang, just give me a couple of weeks.  My moms getting me "NOS" for christmas."

The Supra is a fairly expensive automobile that wouldnt (normally) be driven by the same cocky high school kid.  It'll be driven by an older gentleman or lady (most of the time) who prefers a Japanese automobile over an american one, but has an appreciation for the american car enthusiast's decision to drive an american car.  and vice versa.

The kids that I call ricer have probably never sat in a mustang or camaro or trans am, much less had a ride in one.  So they have no idea how much fun and powerful our american rides are.  For those who have civics or other economy cars that are fast, I give you kudos.  As long as there isn't an attitude.

I must say, I agree with Jugador. I refer to "rice" as all jap cars. Nothing against some of them, such as the supra, but to me, it's just in my category of "rice" because its still a jap car. No matter how fast it is, it's still a jap car. I would definitely not prefer one, but thats just me. Some feel totally different. Which I respect. But the only thing that bothers me is what yellow94gt talked about. It's the "rice" and "ricers" that think their stock civic with future mods is going to blow a mustang off the road. That is what I find to be very rediculous, and those are the people I have no respect for in performance aspects. I never really think about it, I just use the word rice to refer to anything jap. It gets too confusing saying, "Oh, well this "ricer" is repectable, so maybe I shouldn't call it rice..." that's a waste of time to me. All jap made cars are rice. Nothing against any of them other than the "wanna-be racers". Just my $.02.
