want a car that is fuel efficient, and easily maintainble.
Since when are FWD's easy to maintain? Try doing the clutch on one....
i have, and yes pulling the whole engine and tranny to replace it is a bitch and a half.  but the FWD is good for people driving in the snow.  but yes the RWD technical and mechanical things are easier.

i was just saying for the common person to drive.

plus i didnt say FWD was neccessary., but it is common on imports.

Common on imports? Asian cars are predominantly front drivers. I had to fix Hondas for a while, and I will take almost anything over them. Its like a Chrysler engineer had a bad day, got really drunk and decided to get evil in his ideas. Then he went to Japan and made everything so tight in there, and some things impossible to do without pulling everything apart.  While he as designing them, he made them easy to assemble on the line and a royal b**ch to fix after that.

Now if someone was used to working on say a 89-93 Prelude and then started working on Fords or even older Gm cars, well he would wonder why things are so freakin difficult to do them on his HOnda. But since he started with them and its what he knows, he will just deal with it and be happy.  Ever mess with a Honda carb? the 3 barrel ones? I will consider suicide before I ever touch one again. The are even more touchy than A4LD ford transmissions.  Just shoot me first.

Ricer to me is a kid with the parkbench and fart can. revving at every V8 he see's, including my 1/2 ton Ford.  Rice is also a term we domestic types use to degrade japanese imports.  mainly because its always a battle with the import kids. They wanna be top dog, and they wanna say I beat such an such. I havent lost to one yet.  They mostly talk out their azz, and just start stuff. Things have gotten a bit better lately.  Still even when they see the 11 sec dial in on my window as I drive back from the track, they will try me when they cant even get a 15 out of their car. They arent worth the ticket, the waste of gas, or the possible damage or death that could happen from my car going WOT on the street.  It just doesnt happen anymore. I have been scared enough to know that there is a limit and even if it is way out in the middle of nowhere, I am not gonna do it. Because I like my car, and I dont wanna buy him a new one.

If you or anyone can build their car to run with or faster than mine, I give them credit. Respect is earned, not won. repspect from me comes at a price of being adult and mature, not by squealing your tires around every corner. If you fit into the category that runs with me and arent a squirrel, then you are on a a good start to earning respect. Here in Chucktown there is a honda that runs high 7's in the 1/8th.  He isnt cocky, but he does have the chip on his shoulder. Bee cool, and intelligent and you will find your way into the fair graces of those who share the hobby of modding our rides to go faster. Be a Phallus and you will find yourself even ostricized by the people whom you are trying to emulate.

Oh crap I used big werds and wrote a novel again.... I better stop now. in closing, everything depends on whose respect you desire. Being a jerk will not get any. Human nature.  soap bix has been removed...lol.

Why do people who own Ricers come here anyway? Other than to find out what is goin on and see if they can pick a fight...  I think GM guys and Ford owners should get together, and guide the kids gettin into the IMports just like we do with the kids who have domestics. Then maybe they wouldnt be so apt to do stupid stuff, like racing with 5 friends in the car, and swerving through traffic, or other illegal less than intelligent practices. I have a few friends who own ricers, and they usually have an attitude about thier car vs mine. No need for it, I dont want to buy one like they have, and they may or may not want one like mine, but we are still into cars. not interior decorating or flower arraingement.

I dont like flash, but you might, its still a car. One is fast, one looks good, some look good and are fast. Its still a car, and I like mine.

i like your style, and i agree.  just like jeepster said awhile back, i think people should treat others fairly.. thats why i have a problem with import drivers, on one of my behind the wheels with the driving scholl and some asian was revvin next to me, alot of ricers are    @$$|-|0|_3$  . No offense, not saying all are, but theres alot out there.  Personally i think domestics normally are more considerate, this is only an opinion.

that is completely uneducated and totally untrue sterotype.  just because they own an import does not make them instantly a bad drive dude.  theres probably the same number of domestic bad drivers as import, but you chose to pick out the imports because u have a distaste for them.

for ex. the other day on a highway in my town i was crusin at 55-57 in the fast lane(spd limit 50), on a 2 lane road. this ass in a newer z28 flies up behind me and gets right on my bumper.then proceeds to swing across the other lane, almost clipping the car in the slow lane, and uses the shoulder to pass.

let this one go guys, some of use hate imports, some of us hate ricers, and some of us associate them together unjustly, and some associate them together from experience.  not everyone here lives in the same town to know what everyone here experiences to get their opinions.  so why don't we chill cause nobody's changing.  you may open some eyes telling us not to speed, but this one will never die so why can't we just shut the hell up about it?  especially you guys so defensive of imports. lol j/k

Im with JUG, everyone needs guidance, but for some reason certain people just need more. It comes down easily from most people for domestics. At least in my expereince. Take it to the track is a big thing. Dont race on the street, how many times have you read that on here? Okay, that is peer pressure put to good use. There are stupid drivers in every way of life. The type of car makes no difference, but who is gonna try to reach out and help the other guys stay alive? People who are like minded but also responsible will. Quite a few of my friends race anywhere. You are taking a huge chance, the least of the bad things would be getting busted. I cant afford to pay fines for stupidity, I would rather spend that money on my car to make it faster, same with drinking, its a waste and I can put that money to good use. Stereo, cars, computers anything. That way you have something to show for it. Not just a buzz and a hangover. Kinda get the point? its not the car being driven, its the loose nut behind the wheel.

Ok guys, Class in session. The word ricer starts more as a rasist name calling then the car. Some of us look at is different saying its the type of car but the fact is it started as the kind of person that drove it. Why do I say that? We have been driving inport cars for years, Honda, Toyota,Mazda ect... and they were known for great dependability. Did any body hear about the name ricer? It wasent until the asians ect.... came with their own style of fixing up cars using import port parts and and cars and kicking a little but, did we start using the word ricer. Now when you see a car with the big pipe in the back and the spoilier in the back and its droped its a ricer!  lets take the word Getto. Have you ever herd anyone say " That looks so getto."That word came from the culture in witch people of color came from. Now if one was to see a car with the shiney chromed wheels and music rattling the trunk of the car, you can say  "look at that gettomobile". I love all cars americian or domestic. I love the sound of that mustang gt. If only I could had that sound im my car. Guess what? I drive a modded 94 RX7. I will run a honda, mustang, C5 vette, Z28 and I love all thoes cars. I am a car lover and driver and thats the way it should be. All props to anyone who out runs me. There will always be someone faster than you, as long as their is money and cars. My mods are: Racebeat exhaust, pettit 3" down pipe, 1200cc rear injectors, ported engine, racebeat lighened flywheel,Pfc and comander, All hard pipe kit, M2 air intake, Blitz intercooler, Walbro fuel pump, Main power pully, Act clutch, short throw shifter, twin non sequencial turbos, gab 5way adjust struts with ebach springs ECT...   Im a person of color and my wife has a 1986 MUSTANG GT 5.0
