So I was putting in some JBLs in the door panels of my 93 fox and while I was putting the passenger side back together the speaker cut out. I took it out and put back in the stock speaker and I'm getting nothing from that either. The wires were only stripped and they aren't touching each other inside. The only thing that I can think of is that a wire could've been pinched between the magnet and the frame. Would such a thing cause it to go ka-put? I'm not sure what to do next...

ya if the speaker wire is grounded itll short out your internal amp on your deck and could fry it.

what deck do you have in your car? because most decks have a safty shut off that none of the speakers would work untel the wire that was grounded was fixed. I would try to hook the JBL up somewhere else to make sure it works.

I have a Pioneer DEH-P8600MP headunit and it is fine. I also hooked up both the stock and JBL speakers elsewhere to make sure there wasn't max flow and I was blowing speakers. They are both fine so somewhere I'm guessing the ground came unconnected or the positive is grounding... I don't know because I can't find where this is happening.
