i don't really think so...most ricers that i know even refer to their cars as "rice rockets" and most asian people just think ricers are funny (i am half asian, my girlfriend is asain, and almost all my friends are asain and none of them are offended by the term "rice")

ps: all my asian friends think 4.0 is huge :)

I don't know about WONTWIN; (how bout ULOSE or YOULOSE). WONTWIN could be interpretted as your car WONTWIN, which is just the opposite of what you intend. How 'bout BYECHVY or BYECHEV.

Yeah, every 'bye chevy' combo was taken acccept 'bychevy' and I don't really like that either cause without the 'e' it almost means the car is made by chevy. Thanks for the comments though - I didn't think about 'wontwin' that way. I checked and 'ulose2' is available. I ordered them but it's only a couple bucks. I think I'll search for some more. Thanks again for pointing it out....

i really do respect good imports though, in fact, the mustang was one of the few american choices for a car when i was looking

i really like the 350z and g35 over the v6 mustang, but i am still 17 so i am very happy with this :)

I'm not afraid of imports, thats why I own both. Which gives me an idea!!
At my next renewal, think I'm going to change the plates on my Stang and 350Z.
For my Stang I'll try STANGZ and my Z I'll try ZTANG.
Or maybe 350Z289 and 289Z350.
Or how about, ZPONY and PONYZ.
Hmm!! I gotta think about this one.[8D]

Yeah, it's the most ass-backward thing I've ever seen. You have to fill out this little blue form with three choices (in order of preference), mail them a check for $35 and they'll let you know if you got any of the three. I got lucky on my other current vehicle, an '87 IROC with a 427 cu in small block and got my first choice (427IROC). Keeping my fingers crossed on this one.

In California you can now check availability, order, and pay for your vanity plate online. A few years ago you could search for all plates with a particular 3-6 letter character sequence. It was a lot easier to figure out what to get then, because it would give you ideas and show you which variants and misspellings were already taken. Now you can only check if the one you want is available or not. But at least if it is available, you can "own" it in a matter of minutes. You don't have to go down to the DMV with your three choices like a few years ago.

I've given up on car specific or job specific vanity plates because you have to get rid of them when you change jobs or cars. I've had a total of 8 different vanity plates so far and have four right now. I wanted something that would make people smile but not want to hate me. Specifically, I don't want my license plate to negatively influence a law enforcement officer that might have reason to pull me over. What are your chances of getting out of a marginal ticket with BLU BY U or 2FAST4U on your car?

So, after reaching the point of having about three grandchildren, I faced reality, traded in my other plates, and got GRAMPAA for the car, GRAMMPA for the Ducati motorcycle, then added GRAMPA8 when I bought the Ducati 888 Superbike. I figure that the license plate frame saying "I may grow older but I refuse to grow up" helps set the tone. I wouldn't put any of those plates on a Buick or an SUV, or even some big Harley cruiser. It losed its effect if it's not on something bright and fast.

So, have any of you who are going after a "faster theme" considered what it does to your chances of talking your way out of a ticket? Mine works pretty good.

I read a newspaper story once that went on about a fellow who couldn't decide on a vanity plate so he got the idea to get "NONE". Trouble was after about three months he started to receive notices from the DMV informing him that he owed loads of money for his impouded vehicles. Seems when police officers find a car without any plates they wrote "NONE" in the tag number box on the ticket form. The guy was getting credited for every tagless car the local police force found.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the phrase, a "Type A" personality refers to people who are very impatient and aggressive (prime candidates for heart-attacks), while "Type B" personalities are mellow, laid-back and easy going.

Yea, in Alabama you dont need a plate in front. I'm glad...its just retarded and leaves room for whatever I want to put there if anything.
