Anyone dynomat their trunk? Recommend it? I have an 03 Cobra and would have to stick the sub in the back.

I have it, it helps a little but you have to put alot on to actually make it work and its expensive, but since you got a cobra you prob can afford it.

to make it sound rally good you would have to dyunomat the whole car bout 800 bux then you would tell the difference jus doing the trunk wont be worth it no matter how much money you have

dynomat will help if you just do the trunk some of your other panels will rattle but if you do your trunk it will help your sound quality and will eliminate most if not all of your trunk rattle wich is what rattles the most

I've done my whole Mustang up with Dynomat and it really does make a difference if your serious about your system. I'm a car audio installer and competitor. What I found to be the best places for it are to line the trunk, a small piece directly behind the licence plate ( or pick up the Dynamat kit for that), and cut two small pieces to put between the spoiler and the trunk hatch (physically remove the spoiler, cut a piece to match the size) this will take almost all rattling from the spoiler. If you want alot of Dynamat, go on Ebay, I've found extreme bulk packs for under $100 (tweeter sells it for $200+) I removed my back seats for a custom fiber glass box for 4 12's and two Kicker 1200.1 amps, so I need to have as many db's kept in the car as possible, Dynamat will help, the more the better.

I HIGHLY, recommend it, we are workin on a mitsubishi mirage and the truck in dynomatted and it sounds really really clean

If you guys are serious about car installs, don't use dynomat. There's a lot of products on the market that are a lot better. If u spend about $1000, u can basically sound-proof your car. Go to a place that is serious car audio (i went to Audio Concepts Mobile in Calgary, AB) and ask someone there. I used a product called v-block. Tear everything out of your car and remove old sound-prood material. Clean all the metal and spray it with sound dampening(comes in a spray-paint can). Then you stick a light sound-proof sheet on all the metal parts (most important is floor of the car and car doors). Then a heavier pad goes on top of this, only on the floor. When i find the exact name of the product, i'll post it here.

ok...my question has to be: why the floor of the car? alot of the sound deadening stuff such as dynomat is used to waigh down body panels and such so they dont flex, 'cause if they flex you lose db and it rattles, but the floor of your car doesnt really flex all that much so why would the floor be one of the more important place's? it doesnt make sense to me, so if someone would like to inlighten me? that would be great thanx

I would dynomat if you're NOT worried about weight. It will help but like said there are other alernatives out there. Spray in etc... If you want a cheap way to stop your license plate rattle (If it does rattle) is get some weather stripping for it and cut to fit etc. I'm not gonna go into too much detail but there is alot of other alternatives.

oh yes there certainly are, dynomat is just one of the big name one's that everyone uses, you can use pretty much anything, i used some 3D seeler spray crap, that worked, for (2) 10' xplods, lol,

Dynomat just weighs sooooo damn much. Personally I say just dampen whatever is rattling which is probably the spoiler and maybe license plate.

ya it does waigh alot, but if your putting a big system in it really doesnt matter in the end, also the sheet metal on the bottom of my hatch rattled, with no spoiler, and that was with my xplod's

I did my trunk when I put my subs in and it helped with the sound quality a lot. I did the underside of the trunklid, and the rear around the back of the taillighs and such. My buddy used to work at best buy so i got the big box of it for like half price.

The reason you do the floor of the car it mainly to eliminate road noise. you can use the spray stuff in the wheel wells and get rid of most of the noise with just that.
