Got together with "the crew" again last night and had some more computer generated fun.
I was the cameraman in the C6 Z06.
Friend with the C6Z calls me up and says he has a race with a Z06 that has unknown mods. So I get to the meeting spot, a few minutes go by and then I see my friend pull up in a black '02 Z06. This confused me because I thought he just had a silver '04 Z06 with bolt-ons.
He tells me that it's his friends car and he doesn't know the mods and says that his friend told him "If it doesn't beat that C6 Z06, you can keep it!".
So I'm thinking this is a little far fetched, Anyways, we agree on the race conditions and head out. You'll see the outcome in the video; it certainly suprised me, It sounds just like stock, so I was assuming he had sprayed on us, he says no NX, so then I was thinking, WTF?
I think my runs with the heads/cam Z06 were pretty good. I'm still getting some belt slip (noticed it in the video, not when I was racing him), which kind of suprised me since I thought I had fixed that problem by draining some coolant so it didn't overflow on me like last time when I ran the C6 Z06.
This is not meant to be an excuse for losing, I just want everyone to know that I'm aware it is slipping and am looking for a fix for it. Our races are for fun and I don't care if I win/lose, but I would like to have my car mechanically up to par.
I assume that the belt slip I got in the race with the C6Z a few weeks ago pretty much tore the belt up (there was 1/4" to 1/2" of belt rubber built up on the coolant crossover tube under the blower snout). I'll be throwing on a new belt this weekend and if that doesn't fix it I'm going to order a bigger idler pulley from Billetflow.
Anyways, enough with all the talk, enjoy the video.
