Probably for the verts. No rear deck for speakers in a vert.
wildabouthorses 02-11-2006, 10:02 PM Yep, my o5 convert has the quarter panel speaker!
Professor Wizard 02-13-2006, 02:14 PM I have a large speaker in the bottom of my doors... and 2 smaller speakers at the top front of the doors.. plus speakers in each side panel of the rear seat.
cstigger04 02-13-2006, 08:34 PM HMMMMMMMMM....I wonder if there is a difference under the panels? Damn, now I have to find someone with a vert that will be willing to let me peek.[sm=interesting.gif]
Tracedaddy 02-24-2006, 05:52 PM Thanks for the info. I've got a buzz in my passenger side speaker and was thinking about getting at it this weekend. Nice not to have to go in blind.

Is the seatbelt locked and you can't get it to unlock?

Tuning Tips from Steeda Autosports...
http://mustangmonthly.com/featuredvehicles/mump_0512_steedas/index.html
So i went back and read that article a few times and it seems as though there info may be a bit in accurate. They say this about lowering "Steeda's Sport springs drop the '05 by 3/4-inch and they're designed for good riding as well as improved handling. Even better, on the '05, you can install Steeda's Sport springs without having to switch to performance struts and shocks. "
Yet when i check Steedas site none of the spring they sell only lower the car 3/4" they all lower it 1-1/2" out back and 1" up front.
Richard
5StangsandCounting 04-17-2006, 02:37 AM I was wondering the same thing... as I just purchased Steeda Light sport springs. Steeda has other companies make their stuff, and i'm guessing they did a mid lined switch..
The rep also told me that the new Light springs that They offer (normaly $259) are currently only $209 right from steeda.... they said that they have about 48 left, and that when they are gone, they are re-ordering them from the manufacturer, and they well be selling them for $299 then..
So Now is a pretty good time to grab them up. Also, the drop amout is suppost to be pretty moderate, and allow you to still retain the factory shocks/struts. I'll be getting them installed this week, and hope the rep was right...

Yeah I saw on Steedas site that they had them for 209 which is why i asked about them. So keep us updated after the install. Can you take some before and after measurment to see how much they actually lower the car?
Thanks,
Richard
5StangsandCounting 04-23-2006, 12:28 AM My install got bumped to Tuesday 25th, but I'll post after with the info, and hopfully the sattisfied results...
5StangsandCounting 04-26-2006, 12:57 AM Got the Steeda Light springs installed today... !!...Awesome~!
They are exactly waht I was hoping for... A drop of one inch, and a little firmer ride.
The car lowered 7/8" in front and 1" in back. The car looks proper now, and has much less brake dive and launch jump.
To put a number on it, I would say the car seems 20-25% firmer now. Nothing to make driving uncomportable, just enough to let you know that you are in a proper sports car...
The shop that installed them said that it aligned easily, and they didn't think I would have any suspension issues without installing any other parts... we'll see.
I've attach a morf photo with the before and after image to aid your assesment.
Go Steeda!

Andys06GT 04-29-2006, 10:24 AM my wife noticed as she was driving the 'stang the other day, that at low speeds where she wasnt accelerating, around 28-31 mph, that there was a low droning noise. i said cant be, we've had the car a week. so i took it out with her, and sure enough, my 06 GT w/ auto tranny (for the wife) has a low droning noise. is this the 05-8-6 TSB for exhaust humming that you referred to in this post? and for 06-4-01, rattling noise, she swears she heard that one two a few times. but im yet to experience that. didnt know if taking it to the dealership would solve the problems or not.
Andys06GT 04-30-2006, 01:30 AM Hey wizard, i got a quick question for ya.... trying to get those TSB's, but the only places i can find them, you need a subsciption. any way to get around that? fords site only gives you info on recalls, and only dealing to engine/emissions. but that low vibrating noise on the dash and exhaust is about to drive my through a wall. can the dealerships fix it? cant find the solution without being able to read the TSB's. thanks.
Professor Wizard 05-02-2006, 06:43 PM Andy...
You can either print / write the TSB number your curious about and ask your ford dealership to look it up, or try going to Blueovel.com and posting an inquiry. There are several Ford Mechancs on there that will look it up for you.
Andys06GT 05-02-2006, 07:17 PM alright, that worked. thanks. now do i need to take in that number to the dealership when i tell them about my exhaust rattle? or should they just know that its in the system, and i want it fixed. today. cause its annoying and my wife makes fun of me for buying a new car that rattles. (she likes honda, but hahaha, mine is faster). or can they do anything about the rattle at all? should just go buy some SLP's. ole boy here has em, and man are they loud.

BlackSpirit 07-20-2006, 02:41 PM would there happen to be an easier diagram for installing new springs, the only diagram I saw showed the struts and I am sure there has to be an easier way then removing the entire front esembly. Thanks
By the way awesome information! thanks!
06GT4RAD 07-20-2006, 06:55 PM The front struts are very easy to remove. Simply unbolt the lower two mounting bolts the sway bar end link and then the 4 bolts up top and the strut will practically fall out. Be sure and support the brake rotor hub Assembly as it will try to fall out of place and you may damage the lower ball joint if you let it .

Just now discovered this thread and your message above. I've had my '06 GT for two months now, and I have the same identical drone at the same identical speed range that you do....and noticed it from day one. Is yours an automatic like mine is? If so, I wonder if this is common to all autos.

Stanger05GT 10-13-2006, 10:29 AM Professor,
I have a couple of questions you (or anyone else please) might be able to answer. I have a 2005 Mustang GT. Same as you torch red, but the only thing I have done to it is the exhaust....I changed to the SLP loudmouth axle-back. Anyhow, I notice (every once in a while) when I am getting on it...especially anywhere between 40-65 mph...my stang wants to cut out...it reminds me of something like water in the gas, but I wasn't for sure if this has happened to you or anybody else. Like I said its only once in a while. Second question....I was thinking of buying the SLP 350 PerformancePac...and then at some point in the future a vortech supercharger....I figure that should put me at 525 horse...which is alot more than anything I've ever driven. But what do you think about SLP products? I am very pleased with just the axle-back, but I would really value your opinion. Thanks
Jake
