gear drive may be more accurate but I believe there is a reason for the coveted belt drive system. The crank is subject to harmonics as the engine fires and these harmonics get transfered to the valve train through the solid connection gear drives achieve. The true roller chain system is an inexpensive way to have an accurate cam timing control without the crank harmonics getting to the valve train. The belt drive system is the best in every way as for accurate timing and the least harmonic transfer and on the plus side it allows the easiest cam degree changes. I think if you call a tech line such as FRPP 1-586-468-1356 you will find the true roller chain your best and most economical choice.

I concur.....
I would go with the chain drive.
gear drives have never shown any HP increase anyway.....
