This arguement is going on in like 4 different places on this site........why cant anyone just say it like it is
Cobalt SS > V6 Mustang 99-04 Mustang GT> Cobalt SS LS1 Camaro SS> Mustang GT 03-04 Mustang Cobra> LS1 Camaro
4 bangers should stick with their own class (domestics SRT4, Cobalt SS, Ion Redlines) and clean up the import rice The arguement that you can do this or that to a 4 banger and beat stangs/camaros is BS cause if you beef up a stang or camaro they are always going to be faster
Not to sound like a dick but CodySS why would u ever get rid of an LS1 Camaro for a Cobalt SS i just dont see the logic
I don't know the mods on those cars.....but the GT had exhaust.
But regardless, GT > SS
That GT had Flowmaster mufflers...I looked under it in the begining and i could still see the new muffler's shining and i also know that Flowmaster sound...Not much if any gain from them.

Next to the corvette that all chevy offers besides the econamy class. I would love to find a cobalt around here in vegas, everytime i spot one i am in the wifes car. How do you get 14.1 14.5 from a (15 sec car with someone that has been driving a lot long then you driving them.). I have seen a stock 99-04 mustang run a 13.6 with a professional racer. Also remember that your car is almost at the limit for performance. I can add a Turbo to my car, and but 430+ to the wheels with just 8lbs of boost. were your little 4cyl puts out what 205 to the wheels with that amount of boost. So again before you run your mouth and compare a car that has been around for a total of 5 days and try to compare to car that has 40 years and counting. time will tell which car will come out on top. I will give you my guess and just say the Mustang will.
in the video the mustang had what about 3 cars on the cobalt if your calcuations are correct both are typical daily drivers. the colbalt will be around high 15's as the mustang will be around the low 14's.

Yeah i've seen bone stock one run those time as well by the same driver...I didn't want to say anything because people on here seem to think they only run mid 14's stock. People don't realize that a 99-04 GT in the hands of a professional would be trouble for any car short of an LS1. Anything under the power of an LS1 would be looking at the taillights of a well Driven GT. Cody....dude i think Cobalts are nice and they are quick little cars...But their just not as fast as a well Driven GT...Now don't get me wrong....A pulley swap and your there already. With a trap speed of 99, Your cobalt could very well hit high 13's if you can find the traction you could do this bone stock.. I didn't realize they had a trap speed that high.

I was refering to Chevy cars only, and there lineup acording to speed is Cobalt SS/SC then Corvette.
If you include all GM cars it's Cobalt SS/SC>GTO>Corvette
The only truck that is faster than the Cobalt SS/SC is the Trailblazer SS AWD. The SSR is a 15 second truck and is Auto only.
And seriously people the SS/SC Cobalt is an even match for GT. Hell the SS 2.4 VVT Non-Supercharged version of the Cobalt runs 15.1-15.3, they put down around 155HP to the wheels.
Face it the SS/SC in the video was either a SS 2.4 VVT or was being driven very, very poorly.

I like your greater thans, the cobalt is better than the GTO and the Vette. You know nothing about Chevy, the SSRs with the LS2 can be had in a 6spd manual or a 4 spd auto. The Trailblazer SS is auto only. The manal SSR can go 13.9 to low 14s and the Trailblazer SS can go about the same. Both are quicker than the Cobalt SS. Here is how your GM diagram should go
Corvette>GTO>SSR/TrailBlazerSS>Cobalt SS. I love owning you, you are so clueless.

you owned him on that one. codyss man the cobalt ss is a nice car man if you can get passed the wing. i would drive one in a heart beat, they blow away the cavalier's. great interior and etc. but my advice to you is don't jump in the deep water until your ready. if one has a stock car, (the cobalt in this case) should not race a modded car ( the mustang). the redlines i do belieave a the taller geared gearbox out of the saab, the performance doesn't match up with the cobalt ss.

Cody its alright ive got your back i LOVE the Cobalts and their capabilities i also have the same name as you so lets show these n00bs what its about. i may own an 86 GT mustang but i do know i could buy a regular Cobalt LS 2.2L use the GM cook book and get 1000hp out of it. you Mustang owners impressed? probably not because you know if you have enough money you can build any car to 1000hp but lets think i could change only a few parts IF THAT and beat your GT's any day of the week. you can go ahead and laugh at the 205hp but fact is GM underrated the engine and it puts more than crank HP at the wheels. bash on the Cobalt but fact is its just as easy to make fast as your cars are.
honestly if i had the money, i would get a SS s/c for my daily driver and mod the crap out my stang. but i dont have that much money and i am a teenager (18). and i did choose my 96gt and not a cobalt
is it me or does that gt sound like it had a cam? didnt sound like it had and exhaust be it was definitely not stock.
someone just call up car and driver or something. say "hey, when you guys review the cobalt ss s/c compare it with somebody's stock gt" like that'll happen

757GT how God damn stupid must you be to think a 6 speed makes a 15 second SSR a 13.9 second truck? It's a fat ass brick just like the 05-06 GT is.
And I never said the Trailblazer SS had a manual option did I?
The only thing you " OWN " is a retro junk 05 GT, an 05 model that is still inferior to my 2002 Camaro SS might I add.
This is going to be fun though, so far 3 Cobalt SS/SC's are running high 13's @102 with just a 3" pulley. Thats with terrible traction and 60ft times too.
The GM stage kits will put them in the low 13's then what will you say?
