Well it would figure my luck to have my race tires off and cat pipe on for a smog test when a brand new AMG V8 Kompressor pulls up next to me at the light. I had no idea what it really was. I just thought it was one of those SLK 2.3 jokers. Right before the light turned I looked again to see if I could see what it was. I quickly saw the V8 Kompressor emblem on the side and knew it was on for sure. I laid into it smoking my tires into second(gotta love radials!) and it was over fast. Regardless if I had hooked up and had my H-pipe in I would have lost. Those damn cars are fast. I'm pissed right now but feel a little better about the fact they have 493 horse and cost $113K. Still sucks to lose. Should have asked him if he buys his women too.

Don't feel bad.....if your Mustang had 100K worth of mods I'm sure you would go faster than him.  (ALOT MORE)

When I lit the tires up he walked ahead at least 3/4 cars on me. By then trying to make up ground on him was impossible. In fact I ran my motor into detonation a little in 2nd trying to catch up (I was only running 91 fuel.) Checked the plugs, everything seems ok. Right now I'm looking into swapping my blower for a Nitrous Works 250HP system. Should take me into the low 11's. Then will see who's ahead by 3/4 cars or more!

For how much? Wait, I'll answer that one:

too much.

Get a 427, hop that up, and you'll eat those numbers alive.

I took an SL-55 AMG on the highway a couple months ago in my 94 Seville STS. Sure, he would have won on the track, but in traffic.... try to match my brain.

The funny thing was that he got off on an exit and flipped me the bird. Mercedes drivers, sheesh... can't deal with losing and have respect for a fellow road warrior.

Hey...why were you worried about the STOCK V8 with the blower under your hood? --If not worried, why fry the tires?

if your selling your blower kit, post it and let us know what you want for it.

oh and something else...

AMG is moving away from the kompressor line of their engines and using more normally aspriated 5.5L V8's with about 362 hp or so for their C55/SLK55 and CLK55 (which already has this engine). The upper echelon of the AMG line gets the(thus the sl-65) 6.5L V8 Twin Turbo (pushing out around 700hp - 800+ lbs ft of tq) aptly named E65/S65/SL65/CL65. All the 6.5L cars will also get the 7 speed transmission. There was an article about it, if you want to read it I can dig it up and post it. The BMW M5/M6, however, will get the V10 550hp and push them both to 0-60 around 3.9sec. So clearly the bar has been raised by both sides...hmm a Stock Mustang v. V-10 M5.

Delay's dont do s**t for smoking 'em up. RPM-based controlers that lean out the throttle do.

[/QUOTE] BRILLIANT  COMPARE A STOCK MUSTANG AGAINST A M5  tell you what  give me an 03 cobra, and the change left over between it and a m5 price tag and lets line them up... oh wait dumping another 25g into the cobra will make it pointless.. the m5 is toast...

nice car but lets keep it real.. 70g cars should beat 25g cars.
