yea the EGR is different, if you wanted to you can relocate the bung or just delete the EGR

my 98 EGR was no diferent from the 97 junkyard engine that i put in. exactly identical, and mine is a late 98 and the 97 engine is an early 97 engine. so no difference i could find but there suposedly is. the worst case is you might have to bend the EGR nipple to mate up with the crap or get 1' of high temp silicone emissions hose from napa and 2 hose clamps to mate everything together.

simple as that

get these and delete the EGR or mod them to accept EGR setup. it wouldn't be that hard.

or these and use the rubber high temp silicon emissions hose to fit the EGR together
