Default you guys all wanted to see it! turbo build is nearing completion!

the ebay turbo build!

my neighbor bought a real cheap stang(which is in really good condition, no rust for 2k dollars and 160k miles.)

so he got this wild hair up his *** he wantd to try out these ebay turbos. so right now he has, the turbo, piping, intercooler, lighting mass air, injectors, fuel pump and oil feed lines and fittings. he just needs an FMU and a waste gate/bov.

he just ordered the stuff today so i figured i'd take this oppurtunity to follow his build up and take pics and let you guys know how this whole thing goes. for his sake i hope it works out and rocks this stangs socks off, but i just have this feeling it'll gernade his whole motor.

he probably wont get started for a couple weeks but i deff update everyone with this build.

so my question....what does a stock hci car with a 65mm turbo at anywhere from 6-10psi make to the wheels? i estimate close to 360 to 410. whatcha guys think?

from what I've heard it's the fitment of the kits that's horrible, the parts might be okay (who knows?)

"looks" the same. lol. what was explained to me was the construction of the ball bearings are diff from ebay turbos to the better quality name brand turbos. the ebay turbos use "angular contact ball bearings" which are cheaper but rated fairly low on max rpms they can run where as the name brand turbos use "cylinder roller ball bearings" which can rate all the way up to 19k rpms max. so they are much durable. the way im reading into it the turbo will be fine, function and work fine, but may need to be rebuild earlier due to the design. made with cheap parts so it craps out early.

also he just bought the turbo, intercooler and universal piping kit all seperate all totalling about 380 bucks not including shipping.. not too bad if you ask me.

so we'll be doing our own pipe routing. it'll be custom.

newest update. the turbo is in!! this thing is freakin huge, way bigger than we thought it was going to be. and it has this "anti surge" thing on the inlet. does that come on all turbos?
