Default Clutch

Does the V6 come with a standard hydrolic clutch or was that on the later models. I have a 2005 with the hardest clutch you ever felt and drove my buddies 2007 and it was so easy to press in. Im just like wondering if this was some feature they added on the models after 2005 or is mine just weird?

I would only think they did, but I have the same car as you and mine is pretty stiff, not that bad though. Now on the other hand, one of my friends mom has a 06 Pony Package and it seems to be a lot lighter than mine.

I have a 2007 Pony Package and no problems here either. One of the porters from Ford complimented how easy mine was to shift too.

Ok so i guess it was only the 05 that didnt have the hydrolic clutch. Was just wondering cause it is ultra stiff and you can feel it all the way through no complaints there i just thought it was wierd going between 2 cars that were so similar but that clutch was so different

Don't guess. Just because the only responses you've gotten are from 2006+ owners, doesn't mean that the 05's have a different clutch. IIRC, the S197 V6 clutch is the same piece of Made-In-Turkey crud since 2005. Yours just has a different feel to it. It may be indicative of a problem, but that's not something to be diagnosed over the internet - ask a mechanic if you think you've got a problem.

I own a 2005 Mustang (Manual) and the clutch is a bit stiff. My 1999 Mustang was totalled and when I test drove the 2005 I felt a huge difference between the two clutches. Also, it sounds like my fly wheel also rattles a bit?? I have not driven a 2006 or 2007 to compare the clutches.

Some people upgrade to a high-end sport clutch, which I heard makes the clutch even stiffer. Please correct me if I am wrong.....

My 2005 Mustang has a stiff clutch as well compared to other year Mustangs. It just must be an 05' thing ?
